Welcome to the Ulan Surface Induction Microsite.

This microsite provides essential information for companies inducting employees to work at Ulan Surface Operations (USO). It contains important guidance on the induction process, required site documentation, helpful resources, and key contact details.

Ulan Surface Operations (USO) forms a part of the Ulan Complex which includes Ulan West and Ulan Underground (Ulan 3) At USO we have a Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) and a Reverse Osmosis (RO plant)

The complex is located in the Mudgee region of New South Wales, at Ulan.

Ulan Surface Operations employs approximately 700 contractors across the site, 120 permanents and produces around 8 million tonnes of saleable coal each year.

Ulan Surface has a fleet of dozers that move coal delivered from the Underground via conveyors.  All extracted coal is processed through the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) before being loaded onto the train and exported via the Port of Newcastle.
